After having explored the majority of the main attractions in Rome’s historical center, I decided to go and discover the city’s characteristic Trastevere area. Just across the Ponte Sisto, I was immediately greeted by a beautiful fountain, with a set of stone steps leading up to it. Ornate and stunning itself, many tourists sit there to take a break from their explorations. I joined these for a little while, enjoying the music from some buskers in the Piazza Trilussa below.
Continuing on my journeys, I turned up the Via Benedetta. Before I could go further, however, a gold plaque just to the right caught my eye. It read Romeloft and SopranoVillas, which I assumed were rental companies. As it turned out, I was actually keeping an eye out for some short-term rental villas in Italy. In fact, I was in the throes of planning a family and friends holiday to be planning for the next year. A quick google later and I found out that the two are actually sister companies. Romeloft operates only in Rome, and SopranoVillas extends throughout Italy. They actually also have a great selection of stunning chalet’s in the Swiss and French alps! The latter, as the name suggests, looks for and manages luxury villas in Italy.
Once I’d done a quick search their website their extensive variety of villas was almost overwhelming. Here you’ll find anything from modern to traditional, secluded to easily accessible, I didn’t hesitate to ring them up! The staff that helped me were warm and facilitating. Though I talked to different people across my various phone calls, all of them were always up to date and in the loop. If by chance they couldn’t help, they promptly passed me back to whoever did know my previous enquiries.
I cannot recommend this service enough. It is not often that an agency handling so many exquisite properties also provides personal, prompt contact. They also have an international team, meaning speaking English was no problem at all. Not only were the staff happy to take my requirements and offer up suggestions of villas appropriate to my requests, but were also great at keeping in contact with me even to just check in and keep me up to date with what they were hearing from the owner. I cannot stress the great selection and curation of these luxury villas in Italy!
SopranoVillas really is the full package – they even have their own blog about exploring Italy!! What had started as a simple delve into one area of Rome turned into a huge dive into all that Italy has to offer. Of course, I would recommend wandering around the little streets of Trastevere. Definitely come to have an aperitivo at one of its bars! But, whilst here, why not also note down the SopranoVillas number for your next trip to the peninsula, they are sure not to disappoint with their many luxury villas in Italy!
